【摘要】:TestMethodD2462forthedeterminationofthemoistureinwoolbydistillationwithtolueneisthepreferredmethodfortestingwoolformoisturefortheacceptancetestingofcommercialshipments.If,however,thepurchaserandthesupplieragree,TestMethodD1576forthedeterminationofthemoistureinwoolbyovendryingmaybeusedinstead.Comparativetestsasdirectedin5.1.1,maybeadvisable.5.1.1IncaseofadisputearisingfromdifferencesinreportedtestresultswhenusingTestMethodD1576foracceptancetestingofcommercialshipments,thepurchaserandthesuppliershouldconductcomparativeteststodetermineifthereisastatisticalbiasbetweentheirlaboratories.Competentstatisticalassistanceisrecommendedfortheinvestigationofbias.Asaminimum,thetwopartiesshouldtakeagroupoftestspecimenswhichareashomogeneousaspossibleandwhicharefromalotofmaterialofthetypeinquestion.Thetestspecimensshouldthenberandomlyassignedinequalnumberstoeachlaboratoryfortesting.TheaverageresultsfromthetwolaboratoriesshouldbecomparedusingStudent’t-testforunpaireddataandanacceptableprobabilitylevelchosenbythetwopartiesbeforetestingisbegun.Ifabiasisfound,eitheritscausemustbefoundandcorrectedorthepurchaserandthesuppliermustagreetointerpretfuturetestresultsinthelightoftheknownbias.Thistestmethodisasimpleandconvenientmethodforroutineprocesscontrol,in-plantevaluation,estimationofmoisturecontentofalotofwool,oranyotherpurposeforwhichahighdegreeofreproducibilityisnotnecessary(seeSection13).1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftheamountofmoisturepresentinordinarycommercialandindustrialsamplesofwoolinallformsexceptgreasewool,usingtheoven-dryingtechnique.1.2Formulasforcalculatingthemoisturecontent(as-receivedbasis)andmoistureregain(oven-driedbasis)aregiven.Itisalwaysimportanttousethecorrecttermwhichcorrespondstothebasisusedinthecalculation(see12.2.1).Note1--ThedeterminationofmoisturecontentfortextilematerialsingeneraliscoveredinTestMethodsD2654,andanoptimalmethodfordeterminingthemoistureinwoolbydistillationwithtolueneiscoveredinTestMethodD2462.AmethodforsamplingwoolforthedeterminationofmoistureinwooliscoveredinPracticeD2525.Theoven-dryingmethodhasbeenadaptedforcottoninTestMethodD2495.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
